Servosteel
is the largest Toll Processor in the UK
and is unique
in being able to offer a “one stop
shop” service for pickling and oiling
in coil form together with slitting and
decoiling. This facility enables customers
to avoid
duplicated material
handling if using different Toll Processors
to initially slit or decoil before pickling
and oiling.
The principal items of plant now include:
- SCS Cleaning Line - Annual capacity
- 200,000 tonnes
- Coil to Coil Pickling Line - Annual
capacity - 200,000 tonnes
- Two Wide Decoiling
Lines - Annual capacity - 100,000 tonnes
- Two
Wide Slitting Lines - Annual capacity
- 120,000 tonnes.

Current turnover
Servosteel currently processes approximately
310,000 tonnes per annum. The typical annual
tonnages processed are:
- Slitting - 105,000 tonnes
- Decoiling
- 70,000 tonnes
- Pickling and Oiling
- 115,000 tonnes
Raw material in the form of steel coils
in various weights, widths, gauge and specification
are delivered to Servosteel by customers
on a Free of Charge basis. Servosteel processes
the material to the customer’s specification,
which can be a permutation of slitting,
decoiling and pickling. Servosteel makes
a charge for treating the material,
subject to the process, before returning
the treated material in coil or sheet form
to customers often using a dedicated fleet
of vehicles.
The business has its HQ on a
modern site at High Street, Pensnett, Dudley
in
the
West Midlands and employs over 100 people.
